Graffiti exhibition at the National Art Gallery!

On February 27, the National Art Gallery “Kvadrat 500” will present for the first time a graffiti exhibition. Some of the best Bulgarian graffiti artists – Nasimo, Sve, Esteo and Arsek & Erase will exhibit their works in the exhibition “Window to Childhood”, dedicated to the most valuable – children and their carefree childhood, filled with games and entertainment outside.

Nasimo is known for his graffiti in urban environments, known not only in Bulgaria, but also in Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Greece, Kosovo, Turkey, India, China and Russia.

National Art Gallery “Kvadrat 500” supported the initiative and decided to present the first graffiti exhibition in Bulgaria as part of contemporary modern art. Within nearly two months (until April 5, 2020), every visitor to the National Gallery will be able to look not only into the personal memories of graffiti artists, but also to turn back time to their own childhood. The purpose of the artistic project is both to promote this direction of contemporary art and to emphasize the importance of children going out to play outside with friends again.

On September 28 and 29 last year, the artists created in front of the eyes of visitors five works inspired by their priceless childhood memories. Within two days, Nasimo and his colleagues – SVE, ESTEO and Arsek & Erase, demonstrated live various techniques and skills. They gathered hundreds of people who witnessed the process of creating graffiti art. The talented artists united around the idea of the newly built complex “River Park” to revive the carefree games of children and depicted their childhood memories with graffiti. The artists painted on portable panels so that they could exhibit their works in different places and continue to convey their message about the carefree childhood years spent playing and having fun outside.

The exhibition will be held at the National Art Gallery “Kvadrat 500” (in Sofia) from February 28 to April 5, 2020.
